Common side effects

  • Sedation
  • Fatigue
  • Hypotension
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Bradycardia

Important warnings

  • Hypotension and bradycardia — monitor blood pressure and heart rate
  • Do not stop abruptly — taper to avoid rebound hypertension

Notes

Often used adjunctively with stimulants. Sometimes used in adults off-label, especially when comorbid anxiety or tics.
